Here you have HQ’s of Tom with co-star Cobie Smulders and director Edward Zwick at the photocall for ‘Jack Reacher: Never Go Back’ at the Forbidden City in Beijing (China) yesterday.
Actor Tom Cruise, 54, will be visiting Japan for the 22nd time in November to attend the premiere of his new action film “Jack Reacher: Never Go Back.” Cruise, who was last here in the summer of 2015 for the fifth “Mission: Impossible” film, will be joined by director Edward Zwick.
Cruise is enormously popular in Japan, particularly because of his interaction with fans.
In his new film, a sequel to the 2012 film “Jack Reacher,” Cruise reprises his role as the title character, a lone wolf former elite military secret agent on a quest to uncover the truth behind a major government conspiracy.
The movie will be released in Japan on Nov 11.

The title of the movie is “Jack Reacher: Never Go Back.” But actor Tom Cruise and other key cast and crew from the New Orleans-shot action sequel are, indeed, coming back to the Crescent City.
Cruise will be among the attendees of a press junket and red-carpet fan screening of director Ed Zwick’s film scheduled for Oct. 16 and 17 in New Orleans. Others expected in attendance include “Jack Reacher: Never Go Back” co-stars Cobie Smulders, Danika Yarosh and Aldis Hodge; as well as Zwick and novelist Lee Child, the creator of the Jack Reacher character.
The fan screening is scheduled for 8 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 16) at the AMC Elmwood Palace, with red carpet arrivals beginning at 5:30 p.m. Tickets to the screening and red carpet experience for fans will be distributed online later this week. Stay with NOLA.com for details on how to get them once they are announced.
According to a Paramount Pictures spokeswoman, the screening and junket — which will bring dozens of domestic journalists to town for cast interviews — are being held in New Orleans as a way to give thanks to the people of the city, where much of the film was shot in fall 2015.
Set four years after the events of 2012’s “Jack Reacher,” Zwick’s film stars Cruise as the title character, a highly trained former military operative who roams the country taking odd jobs — and often getting entangled in dangerous happenings in the process. In “Never Go Back,” he sets out to clear his name when he is accused of a 16-year-old murder.
